The Margaret Jenkins Dance Company is seeking a Company Manager for a seven-week project from October 5 - November 22, 2020.

The Company Manager will be working directly with the Artistic Director, performers, and a small production team (approximately 12 people total) towards creating a live-stream event which will combine pre-recorded footage with live performance of material being developed for MJDC's future production of "Global Moves.”

Applicants should have excellent communication skills, experience with event production management, be highly self-motivated, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge and experience in social media marketing is a plus. This position will require strict-adherence to MJDC’s established COVID protocols.

The Company Manager would be responsible for: • Assisting the Artistic Director as needed during rehearsals, including moving equipment, filming rehearsals, coordinating schedules, and running errands. • Overseeing COVID-19 protocols during all activities, including disinfection of surfaces, temperature checks, and monitoring mask usage of staff/performers. • Coordinating and managing costume needs during the production, including scheduling fittings and maintaining costumes between performances. • Collaborating on outreach for the event, including posting information to social media and brainstorming ways to bring awareness to the project. • Assisting as needed with transportation of performers and/or rehearsal supplies. (Valid CA drivers license required.)

The Company Manager needs to be available for: • October 5 - November 6: 16-20 hrs/week (must have weekday afternoon availability, possibly a few weekend times) • November 7 - November 22: 40-50 hrs/week (must have full availability, including weekends and evenings)

This is an independent contractor position, with possible future work with the company. $25/hr.
