Summer is quickly upon us and we have lots of exciting news to share!

Our Spring Season in Oakland (April 12-14) at the Dresher Studio was a wild and wondrous success! With sold-out performances every night, the Company and Margy premiered two new works in progress – Shadows and Embers with Rinde Eckert; and Shadows and Water, a duet for Margy and Rinde.

“It was wonderful to perform in Paul’s new space for our East Bay friends

and West Bay travelers in this intimate setting, and to reconnect artistically

and personally with our dear friend and collaborator Rinde, with whom we

have made so many works since 1986.” - M. Jenkins

We’ve expanded the availability of the Margaret Jenkins Dance Lab. Besides being MJDC’s home where new works are created, the Dance Lab is also home to many working artists and students, offering a quiet and artistically provocative space to investigate new ideas and generate work. We are deeply grateful to all who have helped support this Lab: most recently a grant from The Fleishhacker Foundation and new contributions from many generous individuals who make it possible for us to stay in our gorgeous home of 15 years. “In this special room, I have made over 15 works with over 50 dancers and

collaborators from all over the Bay Area, this country, and China, India, and

Jerusalem. Its walls hold stories, secrets and our future.” - M. Jenkins
