About the Margaret Jenkins Dance Lab

The Margaret Jenkins Dance Lab (MJDL) is a research and development site for dance that emphazises artistic process over product. The MJDL supports the mission and activities of the Margaret Jenkins Dance Company (MJDC), including the Choreographers in Mentorship Exchange (CHIME), an innovative mentorship program for professional choreographers of all dance styles.

The MJDC is interested in developing long-term partnerships with dance companies, independent choreographers and other nonprofit entities to support their rehearsal, workshop or event needs.

The MJDL is not available for single or short-term rehearsals for new renters. To join our community of renters, a renter must book a minimum of 20 hours of rehearsal or 10 hours of workshop to be entered into our system. Once a renter has established a relationship with us, single or short-term reservations are feasible.

The MJDC also has an extensive work-exchange program for choreographers interested in earning free studio time in exchange for services provided. We currently do not have any work-exchange positions open, but please email Jackie Bendzinski to be added to our work-exchange wait list.
